Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start the Trips app before I begin driving?

Trips detects driving automatically, so there's no need to remember to start or stop it.

How does Trips generate your score?

Trips detects many categories of risky driving, and evaluates you on each of these, which the app then uses to form the overall score. Categories include acceleration, braking, and cornering, as well as other metrics that generally measure how "smooth" your driving is.

How can I find out where I parked my car?

Just check the last trip you made (in the left menu) which includes the destination point. Your car should be parked close nearby.

Why are my driving scores inaccurate?

As we get more users, accuracy will increase.

How frequently is GPS used?

GPS is used every 3 minutes during driving to establish route points and almost never when you are not driving.

Why can't I see the map and why has no mileage been reported for my latest trip?

Map data (including miles) is accessed from the web so if you don't have an active wifi or data connection we won't be able to retrieve it.
